Irish Music Workshops with Sorcha Costello & Diarmuid Ó Meachair

Two workshops offered at 4:30pm, each 90 minutes in duration, no refunds.

1.  Fiddle Workshop - Sorcha Costello from Tulla, County Clare hails from a family emerged in traditional Irish music was awarded with the prestigious Gradam Ceoil TG4 Young Musician of the Year 2021. Sorcha is in great demand as a teacher of music in east Clare because of her ability to transmit her unique style which has the trademark rhythm and swing qualities of generations of her family. She focuses on getting the musicians to bring these out by playing from the heart.

2.  Irish Traditional Music Workshop - Join Diarmuid O Meachair in a discussion about some of the most influential Irish traditional musicians of the past century and learn some new tunes along the way.  Diarmuid is one of Ireland's top accordion and melodeon players and is also an accomplished sean nós singer. He too garnered the Young Musician of the Year Award (in 2021)
