Summer Workshops ~

June 24 - 29, 2013:

Scene It!

Fee: $250 [some financial aid is available on a first come/first served basis; income verification form required]

9am - 4pm [bring snacks ~ lunch is provided by federally funded summer lunch program, dress comfortably (bring sneakers for outdoor play)]

Designed for ages 7 – 15, this week long intensive gives each participant a chance to explore and expand on their acting and performance skills as both the individual and the group.  Actors will become familiar with the elements of a "scene" and use these skills to create an original work  ~ working together as an ensemble.  While intended for students of all skill levels, this workshop will challenge the returning actor to achieve new depths in creating a character.

The fundamental goals of this week are:

To develop and/or hone an actor's skills with regard to understanding the playwright's intent (the text);

To reach both the experienced and novice actor and create a quality ensemble of performers;

To engage each student’s creative energy and focus it toward a common performance objective.

The fundamental goals of this week are:

To provide an introduction to the form and style of musical theater for young actors, including acting and singing technique and skills, and production values.

To reach both the experienced and novice actor and create a quality ensemble of performers.

To engage each student’s creative energy and focus it toward a common performance objective.
